Will the PolyScience Digital General Purpose Water Bath hold its maximum temperature (99°C) without the lid on?
No, to achieve the highest temperatures, you will need the lid on. It is not designed to hold 99°C with the lid off.
Are the PolyScience Digital General Purpose Water Baths compatible with Lab Armor beads?
Yes, Lab Armor beads can be used in the PolyScience general purpose baths, but there are a few things you should be aware of. First, beads transfer heat more slowly than water. This means they take longer to heat up initially and also heat the vessels contained within them more slowly. Because of this, beads are most suitable for use in situations where the bath is expected to be left on (the PolyScience baths can be run 24/7). Second, they may cause minor scratching to the stainless steel bath. This cosmetic wear is normal when using beads and is not covered under warranty.
